Foreclosure Defense

If you have been served with a foreclosure notice on your mortgage, you may not realize you have the right to fight the foreclosure.  However, in Florida, you must respond to the notice within 20 days.  If you do decide to fight the foreclosure, you do not have to make mortgage payments during the litigation process.  This can give you time to reorganize your finances, file a bankruptcy, or sell your home. 

Mortgage Modification

If you are unable to make your mortgage payments, you may be able to negotiate with your lender to modify, either temporarily or permanently, the terms of the mortgage itself.  Other loan modification options include making lump sum payments, negotiating a repayment plan, and temporary suspension or reduction of payments.

Short Sales

A short sale is one way of preventing a foreclosure action on your home.  In a short sale, the property is sold for a lesser amount than the amount of the outstanding loan.  Many lenders will agree to accept whatever the home sells for and forgive the remainder of the debt. 

Bankruptcy
